Buyer Semiconductor Manufacturing
Job Summary
The Buyer will manage direct purchasing of production materials, spares, and components for a leading semiconductor manufacturer. The role involves coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams, managing supply schedules via SAP, and supporting cost reduction initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring suppliers have accurate drawings and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Purchase production materials and components
- Manage SAP purchase orders and delivery schedules
- Review engineering drawings and BOMs
- Coordinate ECN implementation and FAI processes
- Support inventory management and cost reduction
Required Skills
- 2-3 years of direct buyer experience
- Proficiency in SAP and PLM (Teamcenter)
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Strong cross-functional communication
- Semiconductor or manufacturing background
Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Perform direct purchasing of production materials, spares, and components.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications to communicate accurately with suppliers.
- Use SAP to create purchase orders, track deliveries, and update schedules.
- Ensure suppliers receive latest drawings and approved pricing; manage delivery schedules.
- Follow processes for ECN implementation, FAI coordination, and outstanding GR/IR follow-up.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and SCM to maintain inventory and recommend new suppliers.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by providing feedback to engineering.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 - 3 years of direct buyer experience, preferably in semiconductor or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with SAP and PLM systems (Teamcenter).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and part specifications.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
