Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of APAC Corporate Department functions, with a focus on accounts, finance, and human resources. The incumbent will work closely with regional branches and subsidiaries to ensure smooth operations, proper governance, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement. They will report directly to the APAC Corporate Director.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure statutory compliance, governance, and audit readiness across regional branches.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of finance/accounting experience with IFRS familiarity
  • Experience in corporate tax, GST/VAT, and statutory declarations
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken)

Job Description Reporting to the APAC Corporate Director. This role is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of APAC Corporate Department functions, with a focus on accounts, finance and human resources. The incumbent will work closely with regional branches and subsidiaries to ensure smooth operations, proper governance, statutory compliance and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities 1. Regional Accounting · Administer and improve accounting procedures, internal controls and finance-related workflows. · Maintain and update accounting-related company rules, policies and procedures. · Review the accounting system and propose enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency and reporting quality. · Prepare financial reports and management reports for submission to the parent company. · Coordinate with regional accounting manager in external and internal audit to support smooth and timely audit completion. · Follow up on audit findings and support the implementation of corrective actions. · Review credit assessment for new customers and support appropriate credit control measures. · Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate with relevant parties to accelerate collection. · Analyze draft business plans and provide financial insights to support management decision-making. · Analyze financial results against budget or business plan and propose improvement actions to management. · Monitor tax and statutory developments and coordinate appropriate compliance actions. 2. Regional Human Resources · Support the review and proposal of wage, bonus and staff benefit policies to management. · Initiate, review and improve HR policies, procedures and employee-related guidelines. · Support employee relations matter and ensure fair and consistent handling of staff issues. · Administer performance management processes, including performance appraisal and related follow-up actions. · Support talent development, training planning and employee engagement initiatives. · Oversee office administration, facility management and business continuity planning matters. · Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and internal governance requirements for HR and office administration. Requirements · Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or management accounting, preferably with regional or consolidated closing exposure. Familiarity with IFRS is required. · Experience in corporate tax, GST/VAT computation, tax filing and statutory declaration matters. · Experience in preparing financial statements, disclosure information, audit schedules and supporting audit processes. · Knowledge or exposure to M&A accounting treatment will be an advantage. · Experience in reviewing and improving accounting workflows, internal controls and operational processes. · Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, project coordination and process improvement skills. · Strong leadership, people management, interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, drive department-level improvements, and negotiate successfully with internal and external stakeholders. · Willing to travel for business when required. · Proficiency in English and Japanese, both written and spoken, to liaise with Japanese management and the parent company in Japan.
