Senior Accountant
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain full sets of accounts, handle financial reporting, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of IFRS, and proficiency in both English and Chinese. You will work closely with internal teams and external agents to support financial operations and statutory audits.

Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Maintain full sets of accounts for group entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Handle GST/VAT filings and liaise with external tax agents and auditors where required.
Operational Finance
- Process payments, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and compliance with internal control procedures.
- Maintain vendor and banking records, monitor outstanding payables, and ensure timely settlement.
- Implement and follow established control procedures for disbursements and reimbursements.
- Monitor cash balances and support cash flow tracking to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs.
- Handle intercompany transactions and perform reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies.
Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Settlement Team to retrieve, verify, and reconcile transaction data for accurate bookkeeping and monthly management reporting.
- Work with the Corporate Secretarial and Compliance teams to provide required financial data and support regulatory reporting and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Provide corporate secretarial and financial documents to internal stakeholders for operational, compliance, and banking/KYC purposes.
External Liaison (Agents & Auditors)
- Liaise with external agents and auditors on routine accounting, tax, and statutory matters.
- Coordinate with external service providers to ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory filings (e.g. Annual Returns, tax computations).
- Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and providing required supporting documents.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in handling full sets of accounts. Prior experience in an accounting firm or professional services environment, with exposure to full sets of accounts, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Xero.
- Proficient in both English and Chinese (written and spoken), with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Chinese speaking internal and external stakeholders across functions.
- Highly detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting and statutory deadlines.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to support cross-functional teams.
