### Job Responsibilities #### 1. Requirements Architecture & Functional Design - **Stakeholder Elicitation:** Lead structured workshops and interviews with Back Office operations staff and Finance controllers to elicit, analyze, and map complex reporting needs. - **Specification Engineering:** Author detailed Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and report-level data models mapping fields against the Murex FIN Schema. - **Platform Alignment:** Ensure report designs reflect platform reality by aligning them with target End-of-Day (EOD) schedules, accounting engine flows, and cross-module dependencies. - **Object Reuse Governance:** Collaborate with the Datamart Lead to align design blueprints with the broader enterprise data warehouse strategy, driving dynamic table standardization and feeder asset reuse. #### 2. Datamart Configuration & Report Development - **Object Building:** Configure core MX.3 Datamart layers, including dynamic tables (PL, CS, DT, LRB), processing scripts, batches of feeders, and complex pre/post-filter conditions. - **BO Delivery:** Build and maintain operational reports tracking settlement instructions, nostro/position reconciliations, failed trade blotters, and SWIFT message delivery paths. - **Finance Delivery:** Build and maintain financial reporting pipelines tracking daily P&L attributions, MTM valuations, accrual/amortisation schedules, and General Ledger (GL) feed validations. - **Batch Integration:** Manually execute processing scripts or coordinate via Control-M to monitor batch runtimes, configure job dependencies, and tune query performance inside EOD cycles. #### 3. Report Validation, Reconciliation & Testing - **Data Lineage Auditing:** Reconcile Datamart extraction output files directly against onscreen MX.3 simulation views, Mreport baselines, and downstream accounting ledgers to guarantee 100% data completeness. - **Discrepancy Triage:** Trace, debug, and fix report output anomalies resulting from faulty feeder logic, filter conflicts, or unmapped master data attributes. - **Quantitative Validation:** Audit high-value financial metrics (P&L explain figures, accrual balances) against control sheets provided by Product Control analysts. - **Test Track Execution:** Author and execute SIT and UAT test scripts covering edge-case trade populations. Provide dedicated hypercare to business testers during UAT, delivering swift root-cause analysis for failed validations. #### 4. Workstream Collaboration & Interface Management - **Integration Alignment:** Partner with the MxML/Integration team to ensure downstream report consumers receive timely, structurally sound extracts. - **Knowledge Optimization:** Catalogue the reporting inventory neatly by product class and frequency, and deliver clean documentation to support operational handovers at project closure. ### Required Experience & Qualifications - **Platform Tenure:** 5–8 years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant or Business Analyst on Murex MX.3 Datamart reporting platforms, operating heavily within BO or Finance domains. - **Asset Class Literacy:** Solid understanding of capital markets product life cycles within MX.3, with mandatory coverage of FX, alongside Money Markets, Interest Rate Derivatives, Fixed Income, and Equity structures. - **Domain Competency (BO):** Strong functional grasp of settlement workflows, confirmation routing, and SWIFT series messaging layouts (MT300, MT320, MT202, MT199). - **Domain Competency (Finance):** Clear comprehension of the Murex Accounting Engine, including how P&L entries, templates, and accrual types are mapped into Datamart tables. ### Technical Skills - **Advanced Database Querying:** Intermediate to advanced SQL skills (Oracle and/or Sybase) for running data validation queries and structural joins across the FIN schema. - **Environments & Scripts:** Basic to intermediate Unix/Linux command-line familiarity; Shell scripting (Bash, awk, sed) for automated file parsing or batch tracking. - **Batch Orchestration:** Practical exposure to Control-M or an equivalent enterprise job scheduler within a Murex EOD context. - **Reporting Extensions:** Familiarity with launcher flags and MXRes files.
