Job Summary

The Senior Accounts Executive will assist the Manager in managing day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including full sets of accounts and freight forwarding accounting. The role requires handling month-end closing, GST reporting, compliance, and coordinating with external auditors. Candidates should have a relevant degree and at least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics or shipping.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities Finance & Accounting Operations - Assist the Manager in managing the day-to-day accounting and finance functions - Handle full sets of accounts, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations - Prepare monthly financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation - Perform month-end and year-end closing activities - Review accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies Freight Forwarding Accounting - Review shipment-related billing, job costing, and profitability reports - Ensure accurate recording of freight revenue and operational costs - Work closely with Operations and Sales teams to resolve billing discrepancies and revenue recognition issues - Monitor customer collections and vendor payments related to freight forwarding transactions Compliance & Audit - Assist in GST reporting, tax matters, and statutory compliance - Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits - Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation - Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures Team Support - Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff - Assist Manager in improving finance processes and internal controls - Support finance-related projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives Job Requirements: - Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline - Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping industry - Experience handling full sets of accounts and financial reporting - Strong knowledge of GST, accounting standards, and financial controls - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/SAP - Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
