Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with 2-4 years of experience specializing in Backup and Recovery Management, including IBM Storage Protect. The role involves supporting 24/7 shift operations, executing SOPs for BAU tasks, and troubleshooting virtual infrastructure backups. Candidates should be ready to work standby hours and handle escalated problems independently.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation and implementation of IBM Storage Protect
- Support 24/7 shift operations and execute BAU SOPs
- Audit application backup policies and environments
- Analyze and resolve escalated technical problems
- Troubleshoot VM backup failures using Netbackup and Vinchin
Required Skills
- 2-4 years of experience in Infrastructure Backup and Recovery
- Expert knowledge in IBM Storage Protect (TSM)
- Knowledge of Tape Libraries, LTO Tape Drives, and OS (Windows, AIX, Linux)
- Experience with Cohesity Netbackup and Vinchin backup software
- Good oral and written communication skills
Job Details
Infrastructure Backup and Recovery Management
• Demonstrate Expert level product knowledge for IBM Storage Protect (known as TSM) and competitive solutions
• Perform billable services engagements, including installation/implementation of IBM Storage Protect
• Support 24/7 shift operation independently
• To execute SOP for BAU tasks
Skill requirements with 2-4 years experience:
1) In depth Knowledge on - IBM Storage Protect Server on Windows & UNIX, Knowledge on IBM Spectrum Protect Server and Client operations - IBM Storage Protect for Database (Oracle, DB2, SQL etc) - IBM Storage Protect for Mail(Domino and Exchange) - IBM Storage Protect for Vmware - DRM Implementation and Management using IBM Storage Protect
2) Knowledge on Tape Libraries and LTO Tape Drives
3) Audit application backup policies and environments
4) Should have desired Operating System Skills
5) Responsibilities include providing remote and onsite support
6) Analyse and resolve escalated problems within target
7) Problem Determination & analysis skills
8) IBM Storage Protect Product skills on OS- Winows, AIX, Linux( basic Unix) ,DB2 and networking
9) Cohesity netbackup and Vinchin backup software software support for Virtual infra backup and recovery
10) Troubleshoot VM backup failures using both Netbackup and Vinchin backup software
• Other Skills: Good Communication(Oral & Written) skills is essential
