What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years specializing in joining technologies.
- Strong expertise in:
* Laser cladding processes
* Superalloy welding and brazing metallurgy
* Numerically Controlled (NC/CNC) machinery
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and repair processes within industrial environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across global and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% for project support and global collaboration.
- Knowledge of industrial gas turbine components and repair technologies.
- Exposure to thermal spray coatings, surface finishing, machining, sealing, and related repair processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and industrialization of advanced joining and repair technologies to support manufacturing and repair operations globally.
- Design and implement innovative repair solutions to support new product introductions and component repair strategies.
- Develop validation plans for repair materials and laser cladding technologies in collaboration with New Repair Introduction teams.
- Drive successful technology transfer and qualification of repair service centers, ensuring compliance with repair standards and certifications.
- Execute engineering projects involving process design, analysis, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise in joining technologies, including welding, brazing, laser cladding, and related metallurgical processes.
- Monitor project progress, communicate key developments, and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
- Maintain high-quality technical documentation in accordance with engineering and business requirements.
- Identify and implement productivity and process improvement opportunities across the global repair network.
- Collaborate closely with component engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and global stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
